Monthly Love it or Leave it

October Love it or Leave it!

Hello Everyone and Happy Halloween! This is seriously my favorite holiday! So as I write this I am also stopping to give out candy to the adorable trick or treaters!

Each month I want to do a post called Love it or Leave it. These posts will be about the products I have been loving during the month, and I will also mention the products that I did not enjoy. So let’s get started!

Love it!

This hydrating toner has seriously worked miracles for my skin this month! I was afraid to try it at first since I have oily skin, but it has actually helped control the oils in my skin. I love that it is a fine mist which is easy to use, and it is refreshing to spray on the skin. There is a light scent of peach and cucumber, but it is not too intense. It claims to balance out the natural PH in your skin, and I believe that it does. Using this has helped keep my face hydrated without making me more oily.

Peter Thomas Roth is one of my favorite skin care brands. While it is on the pricey side I always find that I get good results when I use products from this brand. This cleansing gel is an oil free formula that smooths skin texture, detoxifies pores, dissolves makeup, and washes away dead skin. I am rather sensitive to cleansers so when I find one that works without breaking me out I am all for it. This cleanser really gets a deep clean, and it helps fight against wrinkles. Can’t go wrong with that right? Since starting to use this product my pores have appeared smaller, and I also don’t have as many issues with black heads as I used to. This is definitely a 5 star product in my opinion!

Usually I am the type to use my concealer as my eye primer. However, I saw this one in Ulta, and I decided to give it a try. I do not regret that choice at all. For starters it is the perfect shade. I prefer my primers to have a color to them so that they conceal the veins on my eyelids. This primer is just pigmented enough to conceal my veins without being too light or dark. It dries to a perfect matte finish, but I do still set it with a skin tone eye shadow to make sure my other shadows blend the best they can. When I use this primer my eye shadow stays flawless all day long. This is a product I will definitely continue to use, and I recommend everyone to give it a try.

Mac Cosmetics matte pro eye shadow in the shade deep damson has been on my eyes almost everyday this month! This shade is one of the most gorgeous deep burgundy shades I have ever seen. I have owned this eye shadow for a long time, and only recently did I try it. Once I put it on my eyes the first time I could not stop wearing it. It is honestly the perfect shade for this fall. I will continue to wear this shade the rest of the season, and I don’t think I could ever get tired of it. Burgundy is one of my favorite colors. If you need a good burgundy definitely check out deep damson!

This month I have fallen back in love with the Kat Von D contour powder in the shade Subconscious. I bought the contour palette a long time ago, and over time I got caught up in trying other products. I dipped back into it this month, and I was instantly obsessed! Her powders are highly pigmented and super buttery smooth. This particular shade is more on the cool tone side which is perfect for me. It hollows out my cheekbones in the best way. I absolutely love this product, and it is the only thing I have used this month to contour. Now there is the option to buy the palette like I have or you can just buy the single shades.

I tried this product thinking I would use it once, and then go running back to my Anastasia brow wiz. However, as soon as I used it I fell in love with it. First off when it comes to packaging Benefit did an amazing job with their brow products. The packaging is simply gorgeous and creative. The product is amazing as well. It is pigmented, creamy, and blends so well. My brows have never looked better. I am currently using the shade 5, and there is no sign of me switching to anything else any time soon. Check this product out if you want gorgeous brows!

Nyx Cosmetics is a great brand of makeup, and it is also an affordable brand. I don’t typically go for creamy lipsticks, but in this case I could not pass up the shade. Stone is a light cool tone brown color. I find it to be absolutely gorgeous. It is definitely a creamy formula, super comfortable, and it does last a pretty good amount of time on the lips. Definitely check these Nyx lipsticks out they a great affordable product.

I found this Japonesque brush in Ulta recently, and wanted to try it out. I had heard good things about this brand of brushes but had never tried any of them. This eye shadow brush is great! It really picks up pigment and applies it to the eye wonderfully. There’s not much to say other than it works great. These brushes are also currently buy one get one half off at Ulta Beauty.

Morphe is one of the best companies out there. They are affordable, and they make great quality makeup and brushes. Personally most of the brushes I own are from Morphe. There brushes really are the best quality. I own them from many different collections from Morphe, and they are all great. However, my favorite collection is their Elite II. Recently, I have been loving both the E27 and the E6 from this collection. The E27 is a great blending brush for the crease of your eyes. It is such a soft brush and it blends everything beautifully. The E6 is a premium flat buffer brush. This has been my go to brush for foundation. I think it buffs out my foundation perfectly, gives me a great finish, and it doesn’t suck up a lot of product. I feel like I can use less product with this brush. If you haven’t already, check out Morphe brushes. You will not be disappointed.

The perfume I have been wearing all month-long is Gucci Guilty. I have smelled this perfume so many times, and I was always on the fence about it. This month I walked into Ulta, and as soon as I smelled it I could not put it down. I had to purchase it. The notes for it are mandarin, pink pepper, peach, lilac, geranium, and amber. It is a scent that had to grow on me, but I have been loving it. It is the only perfume I have been wearing lately. If you haven’t smelled it yet then definitely go to Ulta or Sephora and check it out.

Leave it!

This product is not bad, but it was a disappointment. I got a sample size of this and I loved it. I honestly used it a lot, and it did help keep my brows in place. It is super cheap so I decided to go ahead and pick up the full size. The product itself did work. My problem was the packaging. For some reason with the full size version the gel would collect at the back of the brush on the wand instead of on the whole brush. It was really messy to use, and it would not distribute properly. The sample size did not do that. I don’t know if I just got a bad full size or if it is a common issue. I will probably not repurchase it.

Oh my! I had such high hopes for this product. I love the Anastasia brow wiz, and I heard so many people rave about how much better the brow definer was in comparison. So I finally purchased it, and I hate it! It isn’t a bad product at all, but it is just not for me. I don’t like the angle tip because it is thicker. When it comes to shaping my brows I find it a lot easier to do with a more precise tip. The definer is still great quality, but it isn’t the type of product that works for me. I kept trying to love it, but I will not repurchase it. If you don’t mind a thicker tip then you would probably love it.

I purchased this palette hoping that I had found a good contour palette from a drug store brand. It was not the right product for me. This palette includes a contour shade and a highlight. My issue with this product is it is lacking pigmentation. I applied the contour shade and it did not show up at all on my skin. The highlight looked promising at first, but when you start to blend it on your skin it disappears. I wanted to like it, but in my opinion it is not worth the money. I love Loreal as a brand. I use a lot of their products, but this one just did not have the color payoff I wanted.

That concludes this months love it or leave it. If you have tried any of these products let me know your thoughts in the comments below. Also I would love to hear what some of your favorites are as well because you may introduce me to a new product to try.

Have a great evening everyone!
